Mars

I stare across the barren waste,
lackluster eerie dunes.
The stillness beckons journey forth,
hypnotic weary tunes.

The days pass for travelers,
towards the distant sun.
No cause or reason for the march,
just silent hope undone.

The pristine green of sacred Earth,
where dreams may live and grow.
Abandoned to this hellish scape,
and Martian winds that blow.
