A Terrifying Bloom

I felt myself a winter field,
barren and covered in snow.
Empty,
lifeless,
cold.

I felt your soul the dawn of spring,
A warmth I had forgotten.
I now,
expect,
the thaw.

And yet I am afraid,
To feel again the sun,
To grow
new life
once more.

I feel my roots awaken,
The ground beneath me shaken,
There is nothing
I fear more,
than hope.
