The suitcase filled with memories

We were happy as can be
in the cottage by the sea.
We had everything that
love would ever need.

But the sunshine turned into rain
and the heavenly bliss into pain.
That’s when two young loving
hearts began to bleed.

Once the roaring storm set in
and it gets under your skin
things are said and done
and then you’d pay the price.

There’s no longer happiness
and no loving tenderness
When the summer suddenly
turns into thick ice.

The suitcase filled with memories,
that’s all is left from this romance.
You never gave me another chance
when all looked perfect at first glance.

The suitcase filled with memories,
all packed and ready to depart.
I’m leaving with a broken heart
to a new beginning and a new start.
