Can you define silence?

si•lence
[ ]
1. The stillness of breath as you wait
for your loved one to open the door at night.
The sour smell of disappointment after the last spat
with your best friend.
The throb in your head as you look at moving lips
and just before the start
of the screams.
The final emptiness when all have left
and you are alone in the empty room.

2. The distance between this

and that.

3. The warm trust as two sit together
and need no words.
