Venus

A world of swirling energy,
much closer to our star.
There’s something odd about this place,
familiar yet bizarre.

Sulphuric molten wasted land,
that crumbles as it shakes.
The crushing weight of poisoned skies,
and toxic acid lakes.

Here in this blasted damned abode,
there’s nothing to be had.
Reminder of what still could be,
our cousin, driven mad.
